Jamiyyath Salaf expands Ramadan assistance programmes

Jamiyyath Salaf stated that opportunities remain open for the public to participate in its ongoing Ramadan activities.

Jamiyyath Salaf has launched a series of additional initiatives this Ramadan aimed at supporting families to meet essential needs.

Under its annual “Wabil” programme, the association is providing basic food assistance to low-income households. This year, 61 families have been issued vouchers, which can be redeemed for household essentials at three outlets of Redwave.

The association is also distributing Ramadan gift packs to nurses, doctors and patient care assistants on duty at hospitals.

During the first 10 days of Ramadan:

  • 3,650 gift packs were distributed at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH)
  • 2,100 packs were distributed at Hulhumale' Hospital

For the first time, gift packs were also distributed at Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital.

As part of its Ramadan outreach, Jamiyyath Salaf is serving iftar in selected mosques, including:

  • Masjid Abu Bakr Al Sideeq: serving more than 50 people daily
  • Islamic Center: serving approximately 400 people daily

The association has conducted sermons and awareness programmes in 17 islands during the first 10 days of Ramadan. Lectures are held:

  • Daily after Asr prayer at Masjid Al-Furqan for 30 minutes
  • Every other day at Masjid Rasheed

Additionally, sermons in Dhivehi and by a Bangladeshi scholar are delivered daily after Asr prayers at Viyafaariveringe Mosque and Salman Mosque.

The association also hosted its annual Roadha Hadhiya Ramadan event on the 13th of last month at Central Park.

The event featured 101 prizes, with major rewards including:

  • A Hajj pilgrimage package (first prize)
  • An Umrah trip
  • A motorcycle
  • Nine other high value prizes

A total of 90 gifts were distributed among 15,000 online participants, in addition to prizes awarded to those attending in person.
