Supporters from across the atolls are traveling to capital Male' City to attend tomorrow night's rally of ruling party People's National Congress (PNC).
Reports indicate that people have been arriving in Male' since yesterday to attend Thursday's rally.
Maldivian has conducted a chartered flight with its largest aircraft, the A330-200, to bring supporters from Addu. Others are flying on domestic flights from several other islands across the country.
From islands closer to Male', supporters are traveling via speed boats and ferries.
PNC Chairperson and Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla previously said that this rally would demonstrate which leader the people of Maldives are standing behind.
In a speech last Saturday, Abdul Raheem said, "The highest number of projects ever awarded to private companies in a single day were contracted out day before yesterday. So the people are not coming here without knowing things. They are coming because they know what is happening, and they have faith that this administration is going in the right direction. They come with new spirits and new hopes for a new future."
PNC is holding a major rally after a period of about two years.
