Two expatriate workers were injured after falling from the twelfth storey of a building under construction in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale.
According to Aasandha Company, which operates Hulhumale Hospital, the incident took place Wednesday afternoon at a building being developed by Amin Construction.
The two expats, an Indian and a Bangladeshi, were rushed immediately to Hulhumale Hospital. The condition of the Indian national is “very serious”, said Aasandha.
Mihaaru understands that the Indian suffered a serious head injury, while the Bangladeshi did not appear to have been gravely harmed, according to a witness.
The Indian national has since been transferred to capital Male for further treatment.
The two expats were not wearing any safety equipment at the time of the incident, said sources.
