Hiyaavehi scheme deadline pushed to end of May

Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib has stated that on the request of many, the deadline for applications to the Hiyaavehi financing scheme has been pushed to end of May.

Hiyaavehi financing scheme issues housing loans at a reduced interest rate.

Earlier, the deadline for the scheme, commenced in November last year, was April 30.

However, Muththalib said that as drawings and BOQ need to be submitted alongside applications to this scheme, it is something that requires time. Hence, in light of requests from many to extend the deadline, the ministry decided to push the deadline to May 31.

Last week, the Minister announced that ease in submitting approved drawings had also been arranged.

As obtaining approved drawings from the Male' City Council would take a long time, the Ministry decided to accept drawing with approval stamps from engineers and architects.

He also said then that submission of approved drawings during the evaluation process would be allowed.
