The family of the 36 year-old injured man said that the motorcyclist responsible for the accident did not stop but fled the scene after the first collision. The second collision happened when the fleeing motorcyclist struck another motorcycle.
A motorcyclist collided with another motorcycle on the Sinamale' Bridge and fled the scene after the accident.
A police media official said that the collision between two motorcycles traveling from Male' to Hulhumale' colliding was reported at around 23:11 hrs last night.
The four people injured in the accident including two women and two men were initially taken to Hulhumale' Hospital. One of the injured men was later transferred to IGMH for further treatment.
Speaking with Mihaaru News, the family of the 36 year-old injured man said that the motorcyclist responsible for the accident did not stop but fled the scene after the first collision. The second collision happened when the fleeing motorcyclist struck another motorcycle.
The injured man is currently receiving treatment at IGMH for severe injuries to his face and spine.
"How were they able to flee with cameras installed on the bridge? Even the police had gone there, but we still don’t know what happened," the family said.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
