Police have stated that they have recovered over MVR 2 million in funds lost in scams from a total of over MVR 13 million this year.
Police Spokesperson and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan shared in a post on social media platform X that as of August, MVR 2.2 million of the money stolen through scams have been recovered.
