A Maldivian was arrested with nearly a kilogram of drugs at Trivandrum International Airport in the south of India on Tuesday.

According to Indian media, their Aviation Security apprehended the 25 year old man named Luthufee Mohamed, who was about to leave for the Maldives that morning.

Luthufee, who entered India with a tourist visa last week, was arrested with 700 grams of Hashish. The Hindu newspaper reports that the drugs were concealed in a packet that was fastened to his thigh.

A Maldivian carrying drugs was also arrested earlier this year in April in Bangalore, while another was arrested last November with nearly two kilograms of drugs.
