Deadline extended for streetlight safety compliance in islands

The Utility Regulatory Authority (URA) has extended the deadline until February 25 next year.

The deadline for local councils to complete the maintenance of streetlights on islands and ensure they meet safety standards has been extended until February 2025.

Following an inspection by Fenaka Corporation revealed streetlights on 144 islands did not comply with safety standards. Therefore, a a six-month deadline on August 7 was issued for the necessary repairs to be completed.
