Fire breaks out after gas explosion in Maldives capital

A fire broke out in a house in Maafannu ward of capital Male early Tuesday due to a gas explosion.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that they received report of the fire around 11:05 a.m. and that the fire was controlled and put out swiftly.

Mihaaru understands that the tenants of the flat are expatriates.

No one was reported to have been injured in the incident.
