Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) proclaimed Sunday that most of its ongoing developmental projects will be completed before the end of the year.
Speaking at a press conference held at MRDC, the corporation’s project head Mohamed Shareef declared that highest priority is given to road development.
He highlighted that road development projects are currently underway in 10 islands, which amount to total 126 roads that overall measure 38 kilometres. According to Shareef, the projects expected to be completed first are the roads of Haa Dhaal atoll Kulhudhuffushi island and Haa Alif atoll Dhidhdhoo island, estimated to finish by late August.
Shareef also announced that new road development projects have commenced in four other islands. However, he did not disclose the total expenditure of the ventures.
MRDC is also swiftly developing futsal fields in 67 islands which are expected to be completed in December this year. Furthermore, the corporation is constructing jetties in six islands.
