Police arrested a man attempting to smuggle suspected drugs and several mobile phones into the prison in Kaafu atoll Maafushi island.
The man was apprehended with a number of mobiles, chargers and a rubber packet containing a substance suspected to be a drug.
According to Police, the detainee is a 22 year old youth. No further details have been disclosed.
