The government has appointed Hassan Ali, the former registrar of the High Court, as the managing director of Aasandha Company which provides the national healthcare scheme of the Maldives.
The Privatization Board’s President Mohamed Nizar tweeted that Hassan Ali was appointed to office on Thursday.
His predecessor Maumoon Abdul Samad was dismissed from Aasandha Company earlier the same day and shifted to the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure. However, the government did not disclose the reason for the change.
In addition to the High Court, Hassan Ali had also served as the Immigration Controller and Deputy Housing Minister. He was abruptly removed from his position as the registrar at the High Court last month.
