Seven Fans Stolen from A Mosque in Malé City

Malé City Council has reported the theft of seven fans from a mosque in Malé City over a span of three nights.

Malé City Council has reported the theft of seven fans from a mosque in Malé City over a span of three nights.

The city council released surveillance footage capturing one of the theft incidents at Masjid Al-Taqwa, situated on an inner lane off Kalhuhuraa Magu.

In the CCTV footage, an individual can be seen stealing a fan from inside the mosque premises.

The video evidence has been forwarded to the police for further investigation, as confirmed by the city council.

Recently, two fans mounted on the wall of Dharumavantha Mosque were also reported stolen.

During Ramadan, incidents of vandalism occurred at the women's ablution section of two mosques in Malé City, namely Bandaara Mosque and the Viyafaariveringe Mosque. Damage to these facilities was reported to the police, although the police is yet to confirm if any action has been taken thus far.

Police records state that a total of 110 burglaries were reported in the Malé area up to the 15th of Ramadan.
