“A couple noticed the way he was standing with his hand on his chest; they hailed a taxi and sent him to the hospital,” said the official, adding that it had taken a while for passers-by to notice something was wrong.

Kulee Dhuveli assumes that there had not been any passengers in Abubakr’s taxi at the time. The centre stated that an hour after Abubakr was taken to hospital, they were informed that he had passed away.

The official also disclosed that Abubakr had suffered a heart attack before and had been advised by doctors to quit driving. The centre said that Abubakr had taken a long break from taxi driving afterwards before resuming work very recently.
