After taking his oath of office, the new Mayor of Male' City assured the public that he would extend every cooperation within his jurisdiction to the government and State in any projects that are being conducted for the benefit of the people.
Male' City Mayor Adam Azim affirmed that he will not obstruct any efforts or projects that will benefit the people, vowing that he will provide complete cooperation to the government in such endeavours.
Speaking after being sworn in as Mayor, Azim said that the initiatives outlined in his manifesto can be best achieved through collaboration with the government and other concerned institutions.
Saying that he hoped and believed that he would receive cooperation from the government, Azim noted that the decentralization system is designed in a way that councils require the assistance, support, and collaboration of the main government.
"I want to conduct my duties as Male' Mayor in a manner where I extend all cooperation and assistance that I can offer within my jurisdiction to the government and other state institutions," Azim said.
The Mayor also appealed to the government to continue the implementation of the housing project in Uthuru Thilafalhu initiated by the Maldivian Democratic Party during the previous administration.
Azim took his oath of office in a special ceremony held last night at Dharubaaruge.
