The husband in the couple injured in the serious road accident that occurred in Hulhumale' last week has died in hospital today.
The 59 year old man was receiving treatment at ADK Hospital. Both the husband and wife received serious injuries to their heads during the accident.
Four people were injured in the accident where an out of control car veered into the wrong lane and rammed into incoming motorcycles on the road around Central Park in Hulhumale'.
Two of the victims were released the same night after receiving treatment at Hulhumale' Hospital. The remaining two were critically injured and transferred to ADK Hospital on the family's request.
The two who were transferred to ADK Hospital were the man who died today, and his wife, who was a passenger on his motorcycle when the accident occurred.
ADK Hospital stated that the man died in the early hours of this morning while receiving treatment at the hospital. His wife continues to receive treatment in the hospital's intensive care unit.
The driver of the car which was involved in the accident has been placed under arrest.
