Speaker of Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed, has departed for Dubai today to participate in a conference addressing the challenges people face in their lives due to global change.
As per information from his office, he is expected to return on the 11th of November, having attended the 17th Global Citizenship Conference scheduled to commence tomorrow.
Nasheed holds a prominent role as a key speaker at the conference, where he is joined by prime ministers, vice presidents, and senior officials from various countries who will also deliver key speeches.
Nasheed's office reveals that the conference will feature discussions centered on establishing a framework for global citizenship laws and regulations, as well as strategies for addressing the environmental damage impacting vulnerable island states like the Maldives.
The conference will delve into a range of topics, including human rights, national development, and the role of technology.
