Maldives Police Service requested the assistance of Interpol to find and capture Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s personal assistant Ahmed Sofwan.
Police had launched a manhunt to find Sofwan in connection to an undisclosed ongoing investigation.
In a tweet posted Wednesday, Police stated that Sofwan’s passport has been cancelled via Maldives Immigration and that Police have reached out to Interpol to find Sofwan.
Police are now waiting for Interpol to accept the case and issue a red notice with Sofwan’s photograph and personal information.
