After a three-year hiatus, the Volleyball Association (VAM) has launched an inter-school volleyball tournament.
The competition features three age groups: under-14, under-16, and under-19 for girls and boys. A total of 42 teams representing 19 schools are participating.
In the first matches of the under-16 boys' division, Keyodhoo School emerged as the winning team, while Huravee School displayed their skills.
The under-16 boys are divided into two groups, with Majeedhiya, Huravee School, Kalaafaanu School, Kunburudhoo School and Faafu Atoll School, the reigning champion.
Four more under-16 boys' matches are scheduled for the evening, with the under-16 girls' and under-14 boys' divisions commencing later.
The under-16 girls' teams are also grouped into two divisions, featuring Imaadhudheen, Kalaafaanu, and Keyodhoo School.
The under-14 boys teams include Faafu Atoll School, Keyodhoo School, Thaajuddeen School and Muhiyuddin School.
The under-14 girls' division includes eight teams, divided into two groups, representing participants from Thaajudheen, Muhiyuddin, and Majeediyya School.
The under-19 tournament is set to kick off next Thursday, with Keyodhoo, CHSE, Villa International High School, and Ahmadiyya competing in the boys' division. The girls' under-19 category includes Ahmadiyya, Meemu Atoll Educational Institute, CHSE, Villa, and Keyodhoo School.
The competition promises to revive school volleyball after a three year gap.
