Maldives has reiterated its support for the Palestinian people at the United Nations (UN).
At the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, US, Maldives delivered its statement condemning the attacks by Israeli government on Gaza and the Palestinian people.
Maldives raised concerns about the ongoing war by the Israeli armed forces against innocent Palestinian civilians at the UNGA meeting.
Maldives strongly condemned the Israeli government's demand for 1.2 million Palestinians to vacate their residences in North-Gaza within 24 hours, citing a violation of international conventions and human rights laws. The Maldivian government called for the immediate rescindment of Israel's demands.
In its statement, Maldives further called for the urgent initiation of humanitarian efforts to promptly provide food, medicine, and other essential necessities for the Palestinian people.
Maldives reiterated its steadfast support for the Palestinian people in their legitimate efforts to gain recognition as a sovereign and independent nation. In its statement at the UNGA, the country asserted that re-establishing the 1967 borders for both Palestine and Israel stood as the permanent resolution for the conflict.
