Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) on Saturday commenced waste disposal and management in the southernmost atoll of Addu in the Maldives.
The service previously provided by Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) was handed over to WAMCO by the government on March 26. Hence, all clients must be re-registered to WAMCO to receive the service.
Managing Director of WAMCO Ibrahim Fuad said that registration forms will be distributed by WAMCO's teams.
“Forms will also be available from our Hithadhoo Office,” added Fuad.
WAMCO has transported its waste collection equipment, excavator and vehicles to Addu. The rate will be maintained at the same price as MRDC's previous service.
“New equipment will be brought to Addu within one and half months,” said Fuad.
