Maldives Customs Service on November 21 seized a package with over a kilo of drugs shipped to the Maldives via post.
In a statement issued today, Maldives Customs revealed that the package contained mephedrone, an amphetamine that is popularly known as "meow meow." The estimated street-value of the drugs is MVR 2.5 million.
The package, which was shipped from Belgium, contained two different packets with questionable substances, according to the statement from Customs Services.
Customs Services has conferred information relating to the recipient of the package, and handed over the content of the package to the Maldives Police Services for further investigation.
