Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday, signed the book of condolences opened in memory of former President of China Jiang Zemin. The book was placed at the Chinese embassy in Maldives.
In his message, Solih offered his sincere condolences to the government and people of China as they mourned the loss of their former leader. Solih also highlighted the remarkable progress and development China made under the late former president's administration.
The Maldives President commended the work of the late Zemin in "paving the way for a more progressive China". He also noted the achievements made by China in the international arena under the former Chinese president's leadership.
The late Jiang Zemin passed away on November 30, 2022 in Shanghai. He was 96.
