Deputy Minister of Tourism and Former Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, Mohamed Nimal has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC).

Nimal was appointed to the post following the shift of Former MD Ibrahim Razzaq Haleem from MRDC to Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).

Nimal, who is also ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM)'s Campaign Manager for the upcoming Local Council Elections, was the first Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation during Former President Mohamed Waheed’s tenure in 2012.

Later in July 2013, he was dismissed from the post over alleged misuse of power. However, he regained after President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom rose to power. His recent dismissal came after a private individual filed a case against him at the Anti-Corruption Commission.
