Raa atoll council has commenced a major travel trade expo titled "R. Tourism Expo" in commemoration of the Tourism Golden Jubilee anniversary.
The island nation will be celebrating 50 years of continued growth and expansion of the country's largest economic sector; tourism, during October 2022.
Meanwhile, the president of Raa atoll council Mr. Hussain Naasif confirms that the expo will include a variety of activities.
The event kicked off with a culinary arts exhibition held in Raa atoll Meedhoo, while the exhibition was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Tourism Mr. Ahmed Athif.
The exhibition was participated by various officials and seniors of several tourist resorts, industry stakeholders and students in Raa atoll.
The expo will continue ahead with a special water sports event slated for 18th June, and will be a major showcase of various water sports activities and equipment.
The water sports event will be followed by an arts and crafts symposium, while the tourism expo is scheduled to conclude in Raa atoll Dhuvaafaru with a special gala event.
According to Raa atoll council's president, the gala event will honor and award various industry professionals in recognition of their skills, talent and commitment.
