An aircraft of the Maldives' national carrier Maldivian was damaged during landing at domestic airport on Saturday.

The flight travelling from capital Male to Kooddoo Airport was scraped and cut on its underside though no passengers were harmed in the landing.

It is not yet disclosed the reason for the damage.

Maldivian's operator Island Aviation Services (IAS)'s Head of Administration Ali Nashaath said that the incident is currently being investigated. Nashaath assured that the flight will only be back in operation after full maintenance and repair.

“If there is any chance of danger for the passengers, we will not take the risk."

According to Nashaath, a team of engineers are active in Kooddo to investigate the case.
