It is a key pledge of President Yameen to create 94,000 jobs during his first term of presidency.

Stating that several workshops and awareness programs are being conducted on available job opportunities, he noted that 277 jobs have so far been given to people with special needs. The president added that more such opportunities will be created with the help of the private sector for people under state custody.

Moreover, he declared that the Maldives leaving the Commonwealth was the hardest decision he has had to take regarding external affairs. He added that the nation's relations with foreign states have been strengthened with the United Nations.

“In the days to come, we wish to work more closely with our well-wishers and countries who respect the independence and sovereignty of the state.”
