Covid-19: Mandatory tests for Maldives unvaccinated civil servants

Civil Service Commission (CSC) makes it mandatory for unvaccinated staff to do a PCR test every two weeks and present it to the CSC starting from September. This is applicable to all CSC employed individuals who are eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Commission said on Thursday that the Director General of Public Health Maimoona Aboobakur has informed all eligible unvaccinated workers will require to test for COVID every two weeks.

This new rule will apply to all government offices. CSC has informed government offices to ensure their employees are getting inoculated.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) recently announced they would allow for institutions and businesses to deny service to people that have not yet received any doses of the vaccines against COVID-19.

The government aims to ensure 90 percent of the eligible population of Maldives are inoculated before August is over.

So far, 294,109 people have been fully vaccinated in Maldives while 342,511 people have receive one dose.
