Ministry of Finance and Treasury sent back the submitted salary sheet of Maldives Police Service, which includes huge amounts of increments as allowances.
Mihaaru understands that Police sent the salary sheet after amending it with the new structure. However, Finance Ministry has sent back the sheet twice without including the new allowances.
The ministry is denying the allowances despite their inclusion being included in this year's state budget.
Neither the Finance Ministry nor Police has yet disclosed any details or a reason for the denial.
According to an official of Police, the structure was renewed by amending some of the allowances given, by adding up housing allowance, uniform allowance and ferry allowance altogether as living allowances.
He added that these changes were given to equalize the allowances with other equivalent institutions.
