Luxury resort Siyam World commenced efforts to hire Maldivian staff ahead of its upcoming opening on August 1, 2021.
Located on Dhigurah in Noonu Atoll, Siyam World has currently publicised a notice inviting local graphic designers to apply for an opening.
Posted in Dhivehi Language, the job advertisement also lists some of the requirements with humorous phrasing, in line with the brand's aim of attracting vibrant local talent.
Siyam World's Public Relations and Marketing Manager Sara Siyam revealed that more vacancies would be announced within the coming weeks and months in order to reach the resort's target of ensuring that the majority of the staff are Maldivian nationals.
"We, as a brand, think that local talent is being overlooked", stated Sara elaborating on Siyam World's prioritisation of hiring more Maldivians than expatriate workers.
The all-inclusive Siyam World is the most recent addition to Sun Siyam Resorts. Marketed with a distinctly and authentically Maldivian edge, the resort will be one of the largest resorts in the country, spanning an area of 52 acres.
Located a 45 minute seaplane north of the capital city of Male', Siyam World is surrounded by a 1.5 kilometre house reef with 33 designated dive sites.
