President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom is to set off for Meemu atoll on Monday to celebrate the completion of several projects launched by the government in that atoll.

The President’s Office is yet to release an official statement regarding the visit in which the president will call on three islands of Meemu atoll. However, Mihaaru understands that President Yameen is scheduled to depart Monday afternoon first to Mulah island.

This is President Yameen’s second visit to the Constituency he had represented on the parliament after he assumed office as president. He will inaugurate the project to provide clean drinking water in Mulah during his visit.

The president will also launch a similar project in Dhiggaru island and the project to prevent soil erosion in Naalaafushi on this visit to Meemu atoll.

President Yameen had also visited a number of islands at the end of 2016 to launch and celebrate the completion of some government spearheaded development projects.
