Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) revealed, on Monday, that Visit Maldives is participating in the Travel Meet Asia series, along with various industry partners.

Travel Meet Asia is a four-part virtual travel roadshow organized by ITB Asia, focusing on different parts of the continent, including South Asia, Southeast Asia, Mice and Corporate, and Northeast Asia.

According to MMPRC, the first part of the roadshow, Travel Meet Asia - South Asia, is an exclusive venue to meet buyers and sellers from this region and obtain valuable business opportunities.

The two-day event will be attended by seven Maldivian tourism companies, along with Visit Maldives. During the meetings, information about safety standards put in place in the Maldives will be provided, and the unique geographical formation of the island destination will be emphasized, MMPRC said.

To boost the visibility in this South Asian region, Visit Maldives has previously participated in the SATTE GenX. Additionally, MMPRC conducted several marketing activities, specifically focusing on the Indian market, including familiarization trips for Indian media, and the recently conducted celebrity Instragram conference. Moreover, campaigns have been carried out on a global level in collaboration with CNN, Skyscanner and more.

Since the reopening of the Maldives borders in July, the Indian market is second in ranking in terms of tourist arrivals, with a total count of 42,181 annual arrivals till October.

Due to the strong connectivity and the travel bubble between the two countries, MMPRC anticipates that the Indian market will continue its positive growth.

Furthermore, the corporation added that the Maldives Border Miles loyalty program and the Allied Inbound Travel Insurance policy will further entice travellers to come and Rediscover Maldives once again.
