Employment Tribunal has decided that the employees of Judicial Training Center were laid off accordingly after the the institution was annulled.

With the establishment of the Judicial Academy in 2016 to provide training for the judges and staff of the judiciary courts, the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) had decided to dismiss the Judicial Academy located in the suburb of Villimale, thus terminating the six staff of the academy.

The dismissed staff had filed the issue at Employment Tribunal, following which it was decided that five of the employees were terminated accordingly as all clauses were completed before the termination. The sixth person’s case was withdrawn as the case was filed after the period of three months granted to file the case.

All training of judges and staff of the judicial courts now fall under the liability of the Judicial Academy, which is run under the Supreme Court.
