Maldives Police Service, on Wednesday night, arrested a 19-year-old over a stabbing near Thoiba Mosque in Male' City's Maafannu ward.
According to police, authorities recieved a report of the attack, which took place at the Haveeree Hingun and Shaheedu Ali Hingun junction, at around 2045hrs.
Police confirmed that the injured individual was taken to the hospital and officers are currently operating at the crime scene.
Authorities have yet to disclose further details of the incident, although police stated that more information will be revealed as the situation develops.
