Telecommunications giant Dhiraagu successfully concluded a webinar on ‘Paradigm Shift in Digital Healthcare’, in cooperation with experts in healthcare provision.

Hosted on Dhiraagu Evvun Platform, the webinar was attended by officials from the Ministry of Health as well as representatives from various hospitals and clinics.

The webinar’s keynote address was delivered by Dr Adam Chee, the Chief of the Smart Health Leadership Centre at the National University of Singapore. Possessing over 20 years of experience in health informatics, digital health, innovation, technologies, and business, Dr Chee is considered an expert in digital health.

Dr Chee's keynote speech examined the neccesity of digital health transformation, its impact on health providers and patients, as well as best practices and recommendations for service providers seeking to digitize operations. He also discussed trends of digitization recorded in the healthcare sector prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Participants also engaged in a question and answer panel discussion, with Dr Abdul Azeez Yoosuf, a Specialist in Internal Medicine with Post Graduate specialized training in UK's National Health Service. With over 38 years of experience, he is one of the most well-respected doctors in the Maldives and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of IGM Group of Hospitals. The remaining panelists were Manager of Business Development Ahmed Shinau Abdul Gadir and Product Development and Innovations Manager at Dhiraagu Aminath Shooza.

The panelists emphasized the need for digital technology to be integrated into all health and social organizations, as well as how such technologies create value for stakeholders.

During the webinar, Dhiraagu also officially launched Magey Memo, a WebApp and a cloud-based software designed to manage schedules and appointments for doctors. Magey Memo is a fully functional doctor and outpatient management system equipment with real-time reporting, booking and a monitoring dashboard. The software will also eliminate the need for clinics to deal with multiple platforms to attain Aasandha, since the national health service provider is integrated into the system. All fees and deductions will be calculated before payments are processed, thereby facilitating efficient transactions.

Additionally, the webinar highlighted all readily available Dhiraagu Business Solutions intended to assist healthcare professionals in ensuring that patients feel safe and secure during the provision of medical assistance.

"As we are navigating through a new normal, we will continue to introduce smart digital platforms and solutions to help connect and optimize their operations for the digital age", stated Dhiraagu, reiterating its commitment to serving business customers beyond fulfilling connectivity requirements.

"COVID-19 has been argued to be the leader of digital transformation but Dhiraagu has proven once again to have ushered the country into the digital age and continues to lead the field by placing the premium value on customer experience and consistent innovation to enhance customers’ lives through digital technology".
