President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday appointed four new members to the Civil Service Commission.
President Solih presented Ibrahim Rasheed, Mohamed Farushath, Fathimath Shareef and Mohamed Nasih with their Letters of Appointment at a ceremony held at the President’s Office.
Supreme Court Justice Aisha Shujune Muhammad administered their oaths.
The new CSC members were approved by the parliament last Monday.
The four slots on the CSC were vacated after the parliamentary Committee on Independent Institutions voted on June 29 to dismiss the then-members of the commission except Fathimath Amira.
In the wake of this decision, then-president of CSC Dr Ali Shameem, the vice president Shaheed Mohamed and member Zakariyya Hussain tendered their resignations. Member Ibrahim Shaheeq was dismissed via a parliament vote in July.
