Police arrest man, recover most stolen goods after Westore break-in

Maldives Police Service revealed Monday that a suspect was arrested last Wednesday in connection with a major burglary of an electronics store in capital Male'.

A 21-year-old local male was taken under custody over breaking into the Westore shop in Majeedhee Magu on August 17, and stealing electronic goods worth MVR 101,720.

Police stated that most of the goods, worth up to MVR 78,240, have been recovered in the operation. The items include mobile phones and other electronics which were found in the suspect's residence and some other locations connected to him.

The Criminal Court has remanded the man for a period of 15 days.

Police assured that the investigation is still ongoing.
