Development of 120 flats in the island of Thinadhoo in Gaafu Dhaal atoll has been completed.
Offers to purchase the three-bedroom flats were closed last June with applications from 850 individuals.
Member of Thinadhoo Island Council, Saud Ali stated that with flat development over, currently they are working to level the surrounding land and cleaning up the area, after which the flats will be handed over to the buyers.
Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure are in the midst of evaluating the application forms.
Out of the 120 flats, 25 are allocated for people currently not residing in Thinadhoo.
Payments for the flats are to be made in monthly installments of MVR 3,000 over 20 years.
