President of the Employment Tribunal Amjad Musthafa, on June 16, resigned from his position, roughly four months after his appointment.
Amjad reportedly resigned as the current state of the Tribunal did not allow him to conduct his duties in a professional manner, according to local media Mihaaru. No further details were shared.
Prior to his appointment on March 16, Amjad served as the vice chairman and commissioner of the Elections Commission.
Amjad Musthafa holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Anglia Ruskin University (UK), in Sri Lanka, and a Bachelor of Arts in Shari’ah and Law from the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).
