The famous MS Carpentry & Construction Pvt Ltd projected that the damages caused to the carpenter’s shop in the fire that broke out in a neighbouring warehouse last Monday would amount to around MVR 18 million.

The fire caused in the warehouse belonging to Brotherhood Investment Pvt Ltd had spread to some adjacent buildings apart from the carpenter’s shop, including a newly finished ten storey building.

An executive of MS Carpentry reported that the three floors allocated for employees’ quarters, heavy equipment storage and office operations were completely destroyed in the fire.

“The building has been burned to the point it cannot be reused,” said the official.

Several important documents of the company including the registries of its vehicles and certificates have also been destroyed.

However, the official stated that the company running is still ongoing without halt despite facing several hindrances.

Meanwhile, Police have said that the cause of the fire is still unknown and that the investigation is ongoing.
