Islamic University to cooperate with Pakistani university

Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) entered a cooperative relationship with the International Islamic University based in Pakistani capital Islamabad on Monday.

IUM’s Chancellor Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed and International Islamic University’s President Dr Ahmed Yousif Ahmed Al Draiweesh signed the cooperation agreement at a ceremony held at the International Islamic University.

Speaking after the signing, Chancellor Shaheem praised the quality of the globally recognised international university, declaring that its graduates have grown into successful individuals.

“This is a very strong university. Its law sector is particularly notable,” he said.

President Ahmed Yousif announced that 30 scholarships have been awarded to IUM, giving students the opportunity to study at the International Islamic University.

Stating that the two universities will operate cooperatively in the future, Dr Ahmed Yousif vowed to aid the Maldives to the best of the international university’s capability.
