Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed early Thursday that samples are being taken from two resorts in Maldives as precautionary measures.
The agency revealed that samples were taken from two foreign nationals in Iruveli Resort and Sun Aqua Iru Veli.
HPA further revealed that both individuals are being tested after developing COVID-19 like symptoms. Monitoring mechanisms are in place until the test results are obtained.
As of now, the number of confirmed cases in Maldives is eight, with four foreign nationals from Kuredu Island Resort and Spa, and two from Sandies Bathala Resort and Kuramathi Maldives each.
Although all restrictive measures were put in place for these three resorts, HPA lifted them on Wednesday. However, the agency warned that the managements of the three resorts are to keep the identified high-risk individuals cordoned off and in isolation until the mandated periods end, adding that high-risk and low-risk individuals must be kept segregated.
