Ministry of Housing and Urban Development announced Thursday that the administration was working to hand over the remainder of the flats developed in Dhidhdhoo, Haa Alif Atoll, to their recipients.

In a press release, the housing ministry stated that inspection of the flats and signing of agreements were now underway in the handover process.

The contracts signing is being carried out between March 4 - 8 at the atoll administration office located on the island.

Total 250 flats were developed on Dhidhdhoo during the presidency of Mohamed Nasheed, under the government's social housing scheme. Although the following administration of Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom distributed 140 of them, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) halted the process in June 2019 over graft allegations.

In its statement Thursday, the housing ministry disclosed that the government reevaluated the application forms and redid the recipients list accordingly, based on the counsel of the ACC and Attorney General's Office, before resuming handover for the remaining 110 flats.
