Foreign Ministry appoints new Permanent Secretary

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Monday, appointed Aminath Shifana as the ministry's Permanent Secretary (PS).

The position of Permanent Secretary to the Foreign Ministry was left vacant after former position-holder Aminath Abdulla Didi was appointed as the Consul General of the Maldivian Consulate in Thiruvananthapuram, India.

Until Sunday, newly appointed Permanent Secretary was performing in the capacity of Permanent Secretary to Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services.

In addition to possessing previous work experience at the Foreign Ministry, filling various positions from September 1999 to June 2010, Shifana also served at the Auditor General’s Office during her career.

Shifana acquired a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Business Management in 2004 and completed a Master's Degree in management at Malaysia's International Islamic University in 2007.
