Police probe threat to blow up state hospital

Police launched an urgent investigation over a threat to blow up state run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson confirmed the probe but did not disclose further details.

Mihaaru understands that the threat to blow up IGMH was posted on Facebook. The poster warned of their intention to go ahead with the threat if they did not change their mind later.

The police have not made any arrests yet over the threat nor commented on the extent or seriousness of the situation. They had previously taken action against perpetrators that had threatened to blow up airplanes.

Meanwhile, the family of the poster declared that the person suffers from a mental disorder and regularly sees a doctor. The family added that they have informed the police of the documents confirming this claim.
