Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), on Sunday, appointed deans to head six of its faculties.
IUM issued public announcements and designated the six individuals after the previous deans concluded their four-year terms. Four of the previous deans served for two consecutive terms.
The appointments are as follows:
Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences - Ahmed Saleem
Kulliyyah of Shari’ah and Law - Mohamed Shujau Abdul Hakeem
Kulliyyah of Education - Dr. Aishath Reesha
Kulliyyah of Arabic Language - Ishaq Mohamedfulhu
was re-elected for a second term.
Centre for Postgraduate Studies - Dr Abdul Jameel
Centre for Research and Publication - Dr Ismail Shafeeu
Ahmed Saleem, Shujau Abdul Hakeem, Dr. Aishath Reesha and Ishaq Mohamedfulhu were re-appointed for their second four-year term at the same faculties.
Dean for the Centre for Postgraduate Studies Dr Abdul Jameel previously served as an assistant professor at the Maldives National University (MNU).
Furthermore, the newly appointed dean of the Centre for Research and Publication, Dr Ismail Shafeeu formerly served as the Deputy Minister of Education.
