Police investigate expat fight in the capital

Maldives Police Service, on Saturday, revealed that an altercation occurred between four expatriates in the capital city of Male'.

One individual was attacked with a sharp object during the incident which took place at approximately 1900 hrs on Majeedhee Magu.

The police confirmed that the man did not sustain serious injuries and that all four expatriates involved in the altercation were summoned for questioning.

Another expatriate was assaulted in the reclaimed suburb of Hulhumale on Saturday. The 33-year-old Turkish national employed in the Maldives was attacked with a sharp object.

As reported in local media Mihaaru, the man is not in a serious condition despite sustaining injuries to his left shoulder and chest. He is reportedly receiving treatment at the Treetop Hospital in Hulhumale.

The police are conducting further investigations into both incidents.
