The governments of Maldives and Yunnan Province, China, signed a Concept Paper for Framework of Cooperation on Monday.
Secretary, Multilateral, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Ali Naseer Mohamed, and Director General at the Foreign Affairs Office of Yunnan, Pu Hong, signed the Concept Paper. The signing was witnessed by Governor Ruan Chengfa of Yunnan and Minister of State for Economic Development Neeza Imad.
According to the foreign ministry, the Concept Paper will strengthen cooperation and coordination on bilateral, economic and commercial ties between Maldives and China.
In addition to Dr Naseer and Neeza Imad, the ceremony was attended by Foreign Secretary Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed, Joint Secretary Mariyam Seena, and Assistant Director Maryam Bassama Farooq, of the foreign ministry.
