An unknown assailant, on Saturday, damaged the window of Meraki Coffee Roasters.
The attack on the popular cafe' was reported to the police at approximately 2313 hours.
According to some social media posts, the attacker threw a brick at the window and left a threatening note in local Dhivehi Language, warning against crossdressing.
The vandalism occurred in the wake of a social media storm involving a former barista at Meraki, who was criticised for her style of clothing.
No arrests were made in relation to the attack as of yet.
The police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
