Criminal Court Judge's apartment door vandalised

Maldives Police Service disclosed that the apartment of Judge Ali Rasheed, who was recently tasked with leading the Criminal Court, was vandalised in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to Police, they received report of the incident at 0530 hours. A photograph released by the police depicted a blurred-out word, which was carved into the door of the apartment with an axe that was left behind on the scene.

Police stated that they have taken necessary steps following the attack and are investigating the matter.

So far, no one has been arrested in relation to this case.

Judge Ali Rasheed was tasked with leading the Criminal Court on November 5, following the suspension of the court's Chief Judge Ahmed Hailam.
